Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Michelle, I am the owner/director of Viveka Yoga and a Strala Yoga guide. For the past twenty years I have lived with depression and battled the many other incarnations that this illness can bring.

One of my main missions for the studio is to offer a space where mental health is the priority and as part of this mission I have decided to share my stories and insights on yoga and mental health with as many people as possible.

As writer Amy Ferris puts it, “It takes huge courage to share our lives – the messy, dirty, crappy and complicated pieces of our lives. It also takes enormous courage to keep that pain a secret.” So my intention for this blog is to use whatever courage I can muster to share my story instead of hiding it and I hope that in some small way this can help others to do the same.
